Why this site exists

BestRoadTrips.nl started as a personal project: a place to record the best mountain passes, road trips, and attractions I've personally driven or visited across Europe. No generated lists, no recycled content — every route and pass on this site is one I know myself, or one carefully contributed by fellow road trip enthusiasts.

The goal is simple: to become the best, most reliable resource for anyone looking for mountain passes and road trips in Europe, built by someone who actually does this.

Quality over quantity

I deliberately choose quality over speed. New content only gets added once I'm confident it's accurate and adds real value. User suggestions are manually reviewed before going live — no automatic publishing, no spam.

My take on advertising and earning

This site isn't built around ad revenue, and that will never be the reason a route does or doesn't appear here. Content comes first — always. Where it makes sense, I use affiliate links (for example to hotels or activities near a pass or route) to help offset the cost of running this site. If that earns something, it's welcome — but it's never the point, and it will never compromise honest, independent content. No paid placements, no fabricated positive reviews.
